Chapter Seven

He was gone. The file still lay on the coffee table. Katy was fast asleep and security had buzzed her computer. "Nice ass! Everything ok?"

She looked into the camera in the front room. "Everything's fine. Just had a need to fill." She left it at that, because if she was a man, they would laugh it off and agree. If she was a 'normal' woman, then they would wonder. Since it was her, they will leave her alone, and she knew it would blow over in no time. If they knew her well enough, which they should, they would not be fucking with her on this one. She would make sure of it.

The couch and coffee table did not make a great bed. The second night of only a few hours of sleep did not make a great recovery for the pinch she felt in her heart. The entire bathroom scene replayed in her mind all night, not letting her sleep and only begging herself to reconsider. There was something there between her and Chase, but a romantic love notion was not in her plan after this. She had to rein her emotions in quickly, because around Chase, they were out of control.

Today was Monday and she was still dressed in her clothes she put on last night while Chase left in a hurry. She was wearing a black tank top, and black cargo shorts, which were loaded with weapons. She had on running shoes and her just in case supplies. If anyone messed with her or Katy today, she was ready.

She would follow Katy to work today, watch from the parking lot leaving a GPS transmitter on her with a piece of jewelry she was making her wear. She gathered up her laptop, notes and file from Chase. She poured a large black coffee and followed Katy out to her car.

Katy was super cheerful in the morning. Malcolm was not.

Not but half hour into the watch from the parking lot at Katy's work, Malcolm was having a hard time fighting the sleep. She decided to get out of her car and stretch and when she did, Chase drove by in a beat-up old red pickup truck. He stopped and rolled the window down. A big grin flashed across his face.

"I had a feeling you'd be here. Need a potty break? I brought you some breakfast and another file to look over." He was cheerful and if she was not mistaken, he was acting as if they never had an issue after they had sex. The best sex she had in long time, and if she had more time and a better place, she would have had terrific sex several times. All of that thinking brought a huge seductive smile to her face.

"Sure. I'll be back out of Katy's work in a bit." Malcolm went inside to pee, and as she walked out of the bathroom, Katy grabbed her by the hand to walk her around and meet everyone.
